I pay all my tradies a fair price and support club members. I would not think they would rip me off in any way and on the same token would not expect them to work for peanuts - if they did this for everyone then they wouldn't last long in any business.  
I will say though that I do seem to get charged more when the missus does the negotiating   just ask Stan ANSA NSW Presso   The girl can negotiate multi million dollar deals as a Private Banker but can't get $5 off the price per tree from a tree cutter god bless her
I also tell her to park the Landcruiser on the street next door when tradies come in to do quotes and the Camry takes it's place Little would they know the nab owns me and the Cruiser
