The weather Gods were against us for most of the weekend, but a brave few still gave it a go.
Myself and BIG took the kids to a land based spot early on Sunday morning. With the winds already blowing hard we found a nice spot with protection and proceeded to shoot out a few squid.
Our efforts were rewarded with one good hit - that was it.
The wind turned and then was hitting us square on by about 7.30, so with a few hours already had we pulled the pin and headed off to McDonalds as a treat for the kids.
Back at the Club, others started to share their stories of either braving the conditions or enjoying their sleep-in and lazy morning at home. Some were still a bit slow from the ALBAA presentation night a few hours prior.
Credit to Bandit who informed us of a nice 6kg Jewy caught in the Bay. Except that he got it on Friday night and forgot the Social started at lunchtime the next day.
Fishrunner & Smity braved the Saturday night in their boat to come up with a nice Chopper, but no Jewy's.
Catch of the Social went to ANSA Presso (Stan), for a fish he grabbed of 11kg. He would not disclose the location he got it from but did say it was close to the Club House - nice work Stan.
The BBQ was started and all looked to be very relaxed with a few snags, a steak and mixed bits & pieces. The wind finally gave up and we all enjoyed an ale while sitting in the sun.
A great way to spend a slow lazy Sunday afternoon, a few drinks, a bbq and company of friends.
A big thanks to Arthur from Fish Therapy who was kind enough to once again sponser a Club event and also to TFS Fishing Club who made donation to help fund the food etc.
I think the last word should be from the boys, Chop & Bandit :
